LGBTQ+ Issues

Being a therapist satisfies many of the roles I enjoy in my life: the problem-solver, the nurturer, the artist, the educator - just to name a few. But best of all, I get to help others in this work, something that is truly satisfying. Helping my clients heal from past hurts, helping them grow, to love more deeply, or to live more happily is fulfilling in a way nothing else is. And when someone loves their work as much as I do, you can feel the difference in the relationship you develop with them.

I have a Master's of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Adler University in Chicago, IL, and I am a licensed professional counselor in the State of Arkansas.  I enjoy working with youth and young adults, but love this work with people of all ages. My areas of focus include relationships (including marriages and other partnerships) managing work/life stress, teen and adolescent issues, and anything LGBTQ related, including Trans* issues. I also supervise new therapists (LACs) and have room on my roster for supervisees.

I moved to NWA after living in Illinois all of my life, and being a part of a private practice collective like this one has been a dream of mine since I began graduate school.  Whether you've never done therapy before, have had some experience, or are an old pro just looking for a new therapist, I would be happy to help. Individual and Relationship Counseling

I believe that we are the storytellers of our lives. Along the way, we may get lost due to hardship, trauma, loss, and the disconnection from our core values. In my work as a therapist, I am dedicated to helping you rewrite your story from a place of compassion, empowerment, curiosity, and acceptance. Sometimes we need to reset or rediscover our internal compass, and I would be honored to help you find your way on your path to healing and contentment.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with my master’s degree in Community Counseling from Pittsburg State University. I have worked in the mental health field for 13 years and have served in a variety of leadership positions within community mental health. While I have worked with clients of all ages, my population of focus is young adults and up. My areas of focus include helping clients through depression, anxiety, grief, adapting to life changes, relationship challenges, and LGBTQ life struggles.

I am truly thrilled to join the Bentonville Counseling Collective and I am eager to help you rewrite the story of your life from a place of compassion, humor, sensitivity, and care.

Individual, Relationship, and Family Psychotherapy

From a young age, I knew it was my calling to help people. When I personally experienced the comfort, healing and growth that therapy provided, I knew that I had found my purpose. I cannot tell you how much my work with clients over the past seven years has enriched and beautified my life. During this time of constant change and global crisis, I believe attention to mental health and emotional healing has become increasingly essential for many people. More and more people are becoming aware of how they have been affected, and continue to be affected, by trauma! My thoughts consistently turn to ways I can support people using my passion and experience.

The greatest predictor of positive change in therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist. I experience genuine joy connecting with my clients as we work together to find ways to create authentic and meaningful change. Therapy can provide a safe place to uncover who we are, to heal from childhood wounds and other traumatic events, to celebrate our strengths, and to create a new roadmap for our lives. Therapy can be a place we can learn to love ourselves again! And sometimes therapy is simply education about the human condition, learning about the ways we avoid the difficulty of accepting change through addiction, self-hatred, isolation, and self-destructive behaviors. Within a trusting and safe therapeutic alliance, we can create goals that can help free you from the old patterns that have kept you stuck, and help you become more aligned with how you envision and hope your life’s journey will continue.

As a life-long learner and seeker, my ongoing areas of interest include religious trauma, complex PTSD, recovering from narcissistic and abusive relationships and non-traditional relationships/partnerships. One of the most important and interesting aspects of my practice is de-stigmatizing mental health problems within the community. I am also interested in the expanding research of evidence-based treatments for mental health conditions in the field of cannabis-assisted and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
